WELCOME DEAR JUNE
“Joy is a net of love
that can catch souls.”
-Mother Teresa
Welcome dear June!
Busy week and weekend…
a wedding,
out-of-town friends visiting…
a flurry of friendship,
cooking, walks on the beach
and finishing a beautiful
Liberty Puzzle.
A Poem:
On Being Pink
I am the pink of a newly bloomed peony,
The lightest pink tulip standing tall.
The pink hue of a summer sunset
Blended artfully on the horizon…
A strawberry smoothie,
Frothy and thick
As pink as my favorite cardigan
Delicate and soft
Just warm enough.
The pink eyes of Ryan’s
Sweet hamster Snowball,
Our cat Louie’s tongue.
A dainty French manicure
The inside of a baby bunny’s ears
A vintage table linen
With delicate pink roses.
The floral patterned Roman shades
On my living room windows
And the pillows
Fat and plump
And cushiony cozy on the couch.
The skin on a new-born baby,
The color of cotton candy,
Sweet rosy cheeks
Pinched lovingly by my mother
In my pink-ness
I am love,
A beating heart
Palpable compassion…
hope.
