Love is such a powerful force
“Love is such a powerful force.
It's there for everyone to embrace --
that kind of unconditional love for all of humankind.
That is the kind of love that impels people to go into
the community and try to change conditions for others,
to take risks for what they believe in.”
– Coretta Scott King
Feeling so much gratitude for the texts, emails, messages
and notes
as I concluded another year around the sun…
For the memories.
The Red Sox game on Thursday!
Coincidentally,
I was born during the
Red Sox-White Sox Game
(in the hospital)
on the afternoon of July 13, 1956.
The Red Sox won.
My brother, age 10, however,
who had attended the game with my father,
was disappointed that on his own birthday
he got, not the brother he wished for,
but a fifth sister.
Grateful for the Deja-vu weekend in Boston
and memories of former work places,
including the 41st floor of the Hancock Tower,
back when panes of glass did pop out,
thus its name ‘the plywood building’
and the wind tunnel that could blow you down Clarendon Street
if you didn't grab onto a telephone pole…
Faneuil Hall,
memories of Durgin Park,
Dini's Seafood Restaurant,
and Bailey's Ice Cream Parlor,
with sweet wrought iron tables and chairs.
For the wonderful visit with
Ben and Ally
and a first
on the Duck Boat Tour!
Seeing the exquisite
Martin Luther King sculpture
in Boston Common.
And the wonderful commute to Boston
on the Hingham Ferry.
