A MUSICAL MOTHER'S DAY
Today is Mother's Day
and I am thinking about my mother,
a Scottish lass
who made the enormous
decision to marry my father,
a WWII GI and Bostonian,
and leave her life behind.
a story for another time….
I think of her beautiful voice
and the
summer lightening storms in Scituate
when she would sing
“Ten Pins in the Sky."
And, of course,
I am thinking of my three children,
and my mother's short
presence in their lives,
but the continuation of
her songs and stories
through my voice
and the voices of my sisters.
And I am grateful
for the lovely
Snug Harbor Community Chorus
Concert this weekend
and all who attended.
Favorites of mine included:
“Fire and Rain”
“Lovely Day”
“Love Will Keep Us Together”
“Wicked”,
and “Armed Forces Salute”
in honor of Memorial Day.
Happy music.
Thank you to our wonderful
leadership of
Director Steve Bergman and
Pianist Sarah Troxler
