A Hui Hou

February 19, 2023

“Hula is the language of the heart and, therefore,

the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people.”
-King David Kalakaua

I am so grateful to have this time

to enjoy the peacefulness

of this magnificent place where there exists

something called ‘Hawaiian Time,’

no rushing and over-scheduling,

but simply being and breathing in the ocean air

and feeling the cooling Tradewinds on your skin

and listening to the poetic sing-song-y language.

Simply lavishing in this exquisite, rich

and welcoming culture.

“Be the rainbow in someone's cloud.”

-Maya Angelou

This quote reminds me of a quote I shared along with a framed photo

of a gorgeous rainbow while living in Honolulu.

"I have traveled to the rainbow's end and have found not gold but you my friend."
